Treatment & Service Updates
This was such a great year for us here at Cazenovia Recovery, and it all started with Rehabilitation treatment. On January 1, this new model began at Cazenovia Manor and Madonna House. Later in October, Turning Point House followed. By providing substance use counseling, mental health treatment, and basic primary care all onsite, Rehabilitation allows us to address a person’s treatment with an integrated approach.
Rehabilitation required us to develop new systems for billing and compliance. This was no small task. In fact, we had to build each system from the ground up. Our teams spent over two years preparing for the transition. Without a doubt, this ensures our agency’s success well into the future.
We also laid the groundwork for exciting steps to come in our Community Residences and Supportive Living. We hope to have more news soon about the conversion to OASAS’s Reintegration element. In many ways, Reintegration is similar to our current programs. We’re excited to enhance our services so they meet the needs of our residents even better.
Our Residents Inspire
In the spring, we unveiled “Caz Cares,” our new fundraising initiative that directly benefits residents. Donors throughout the country generously responded to our call. In nine months, we raised over $15,000. Our programs have already put these donations to good use. We purchased exercise equipment throughout the agency and much more. Next up, Casa Di Vita is using donations to create a meditation room.
Of course, we hope that each of these changes improve the lives of our residents. All across the agency, individuals in our programs continue to find hope and achieve their dreams. Our residents inspire us every single day, and we’re committed to telling their uplifting and hopeful stories.
This year, Miranda showed us what it’s like to be a single mom with a substance use disorder. Just last week, we heard from Tyron who’s still smiling despite some major adversity. And Tom explained how important self-help is to his recovery.
While 2018 was transformational, we’re not done yet. Construction starts on our new Housing development in Buffalo next month! Thank you to every person who contributed to our successes in 2018.
