Raising the Bar

We are thrilled to share some exciting news! As of January 1, 2023, the vast majority of pay rates across Caz Recovery have been increased. Our new CEO, Lindsay Herndon, had this to say about the increase: “Working in our sector can be challenging, and we’re so glad that we’re now able to offer higher pay rates to our staff members. They certainly deserve it.”

The Reason for the Raise

At Caz Recovery, we believe that every member of our team plays a vital role in helping those in need. That’s why we’ve gone above and beyond to ensure that our new pay rates are equitable and that even entry-level positions will see a significant increase. Most entry-level positions will now start at $17 per hour with a $2 per hour increase over the previous starting wage.

Lindsay is no stranger to the challenges of working in our field. She shared, “I’ve worked in this field for years, and it’s great to see these kinds of pay rate increases for our staff members.” The pay increases are a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team as well as recognition from New York State regarding the need to fund our programs appropriately. As Lindsay said, “We’re grateful that New York State recognizes the importance of our life-saving services.”

We've invested over $1 million in our workforce

Raising the Bar’s Origins

Former CEO Sue Bissonette was instrumental in “Raising the Bar.” According to Sue, “These pay rate adjustments are the result of years of advocacy and behind-the-scenes work that have led to funding increases for our Reintegration programs. We are optimistic that the implementation of these pay rate increases will lead to additional revenue for the agency as we begin billing managed care plans for the services provided in these programs.”

It’s been a long journey to get to this point. The pay increases and other incentives we implemented from last year coupled with the raises we announced at the start of this year come to an over $1 million investment in our workforce. We are also contributing an additional $50,000 towards staff health insurance costs at the start of our plan year next month. These investments are here to stay and will be incorporated into our budgets each year going forward. You can view our current openings with the new pay rates included on our employment page.
