Unity House Evacuation
BUFFALO, NY, December 31, 2022 – Caz Recovery is in the process of evacuating Unity House due to the collapse of the church next door. Residents are being relocated to safe places with family and friends or to other Caz Recovery programs. They will remain in those locations until the church has been demolished or the City of Buffalo says it is safe to return to our building.
Thankfully, all of our residents are safe, and there are no reported injuries or damage to Unity House. We thank the first responders and police offers for being so supportive and communicative throughout this process.
Unity House is a residential program for adult men with substance use disorders and can support up to 24 individuals at one time.
Caz Recovery has provided residential treatment and support services to thousands of Western New Yorkers since 1980. Thanks to our help, people all across the area have reconnected with their families, found jobs, gone back to school, and so much more.
