2024-2027 STRATEGIC FRAMEWORK
Posted on: October 31, 2024
At Caz Recovery, we’re not just looking at the next few years—we’re building a future where every individual who walks through our doors has access to the best resources and support to transform their lives. Our 2024-2027 Strategic Framework lays the foundation for this vision, charting a path that embraces growth, sustainability, and innovation. “The most exciting part about the Strategic Framework to me is that it encompasses all of the vital areas of our organization that will determine our continued success and future growth. It’s not just about where we are now, but where we’re headed,” says Lindsay Herndon, Caz Recovery’s, Chief Executive Officer.
Strategic Framework: A Look Ahead
The newly crafted Strategic Framework focuses on four key pillars: Organizational Culture, Visibility, Sustainability, and Growth. Each area is designed to ensure that Caz remains a leader in Trauma-Informed Care while also preparing for future expansions. Whether it’s growing our housing services or advocating for increased funding, this framework sets clear goals that reflect our mission to support individuals on their recovery journey. “I always get excited about organizational growth because to grow effectively, you have to also target other parts of the framework, whether it’s our staff, our community, or the people we serve,” Lindsay adds. This focus on comprehensive growth ensures that every area of Caz is aligned with our long-term vision.

Organizational Culture: Building a Stronger Team
One of the most exciting parts of the new framework is the emphasis on Organizational Culture. The framework seeks to keep our culture healthy and forward-thinking while making sure our staff have every opportunity to grow professionally. Caz’s trauma-informed approach has long been a cornerstone of our identity, and we’re committed to building on that strength by enhancing communication, transparency, and professional development across the organization. “Our ability to succeed with further growth will directly correlate with how successful we are at ensuring a healthy, trauma-informed culture,” Lindsay emphasizes. “We’ll continue working with the Institute on Trauma and Trauma-Informed Care to enhance our practices.”
Expanding Visibility and Sustainability
Another major focus of the plan is increasing Caz Recovery’s visibility within the community and ensuring that we continue to be recognized as a leader in substance use services. “This Strategic Framework allows us to lean into the future of treatment services, giving us the flexibility to set new goals and pivot when necessary,” Lindsay notes. “I’m looking forward to seeing how we expand our services and strengthen our presence across WNY.” This includes advocacy efforts and strengthening relationships with partners, funders, and referral agencies. The framework also outlines several initiatives to maintain financial stability and improve infrastructure. Caz is committed to expanding its funding streams, improving compensation and benefits for staff, and ensuring that our facilities remain top-notch.
Growth: Expanding Services to Meet the Need
“Right now, we are in the process of growing in multiple areas,” says Lindsay. “By renovating Madonna House in Lockport, and completing our new build at Turning Point House, we’ve been able to effectively increase capacity for those we serve. We are also currently expanding our Housing program with 20 new beds in Niagara and Erie counties, and looking into an additional location for residential services in Niagara County.” Caz also plans to explore new funding options for additional programs that are vital to the recovery process. From increasing bed counts to adding new facilities, Caz is preparing to meet the needs of a rapidly changing behavioral health landscape.
Looking Ahead
With the 2024-2027 Strategic Framework, Caz is poised for growth, innovation, and continued success. As we expand our services and strengthen our community ties, we remain committed to our mission to empower people to pursue recovery from substance use disorders, build healthier lives, and reach their full potential. “It’s a thrilling time to be at Caz Recovery, and I can’t wait to see where we go from here,” Lindsay says.
