Why Work for Caz Recovery?
Posted on: November 30, 2022
Looking to start you career in human services? Or maybe you’re looking for a bit of a change? Caz Recovery has openings all across Erie and Niagara Counties, and there are plenty of reasons why we’re a great place to work.
Our staff members consistently say fantastic things about their teams, their coworkers, and the people we support. Ron Corpening is a Counselor at Cazenovia Manor, and he enjoys the support he gets from his team members. “We look out for each other,” he said of his colleagues. Maura Baker, meanwhile, is the Reintegration Manager at Sundram Manor, and she agrees. “We wouldn’t be the same with one less person,” said Maura. “I really appreciate everything that they do.”
Professional Development
Over the last few years, we’ve focused on enhancing our professional development efforts for our staff members. Both Ron and Maura have experienced this first-hand. “The agency has been very supportive of me in my career,” said Ron. He’s been with the agency for 17 years, and he’s moved up to become a Counselor. “The agency educated me and gave me a chance to use what I learned,” he added. “There are always opportunities to move forward.”
Maura has seen similar career growth. She started off as a Program Secretary three years ago, and now she’s leading teams at Sundram Manor and our Niagara County Supportive Living program. “I love learning new things and leveling up with my knowledge,” said Maura. We provide incentives for staff members to obtain licenses and credentials, and we’ll even help to pay for application and exam fees, too.
Benefits & Extras
We recognize that our staff members are dedicated, committed people. With that in mind, we make sure to offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision insurance; life insurance; annual merit raises; 401k with match; very generous PTO and sick time; and so much more. “The PTO and the insurance package are very unique to us,” said Maura.
Our staff also value the workplace culture we’ve created. We strive to ensure that our programs and offices are trauma-informed, and our staff have access to an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) if they need it. Staff are also encouraged to participate in our monthly wellness activities and challenges. We even provide a $100 incentive every year for participating in a certain amount of wellness-related activities. “It’s a good atmosphere,” said Ron.
Most of all, our staff love knowing that their work is meaningful and makes a difference in the lives of the people we support. “We’ve grown to great heights,” said Ron. “We’re able to help a lot more people. The sky’s the limit at Caz.”
