THE EDUCATION IS COVERED. THE CAREER IS PRICELESS.

We are excited to share a new opportunity for our staff, alumni, and the broader community: the Career Pathways Training (CPT) Program, administered in our region by the Finger Lakes Performing Provider System (FLPPS) Workforce Investment Organization (WIO). This is a powerful new initiative that offers our community a real chance to enter rewarding careers in health, behavioral health, or social care, without the burden of student debt. This is an amazing opportunity, and Caz is proud to help spread the word.
CPT Program
Creating a reliable workforce pipeline in health, behavioral health, and social care.
The CPT Program is funded by the New York State 1115 Health Equity Reform Waiver and is part of a statewide effort to address the workforce shortages in healthcare, behavioral health, and social work. If you’ve ever thought about becoming a nurse, counselor, case manager, or community health worker, the CPT Program was created for you. Tuition, most fees, textbooks, uniforms, and most supplies are covered. But just as importantly, participants receive guidance, mentorship, tutoring, career coaching, and help with job placement after graduation.
This is about creating real opportunities.
Building a healthcare system that looks like and understands the communities it serves.
The CPT Program offers two distinct pathways designed to meet people where they are. One pathway supports individuals who are already working for a healthcare provider that serves a Medicaid or uninsured population and are ready to take the next step in their careers. The other pathway is tailored for those not in the field but eager to begin a meaningful journey in health, behavioral health, or social care. Regardless of the path, all participants must attend a NYS accredited educational institution that has contracted to participate in the CPT Program. Upon graduation, participants commit to working three years with a NYS Medicaid-enrolled provider that serves at least 30 percent of Medicaid and/or uninsured individuals. This commitment ensures the CPT Program is directly benefiting communities most in need.
Opportunities to Find Your Career Path
Participants can choose from the following in-demand roles: Licensed Practical Nurse, Associate Registered Nurse, Registered Nurse to Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Certified Medical Assistant, Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor, Master of Social Work, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Respiratory Therapist, Certified Pharmacy Technician, Community Health Worker, or Patient Care Manager.
Locally, many colleges are contracted to participate in the CPT Program, including Bryant & Stratton, D’Youville University, Trocaire, SUNY Empire State, and more. Some schools offer online or hybrid options to accommodate working adults and those who are balancing jobs, families, or caregiving responsibilities.

A Pathway Without Debt
The CPT Program is directly aligned with the values and mission of Caz. We know firsthand how education and economic opportunity fuel long-term recovery and community stability. We encourage our staff and program alumni to explore the CPT Program and consider how this opportunity might support your professional and personal growth. For those who have thought about returning to school but are worried about cost, transportation, or time, the CPT Program may offer solutions. While not all costs are covered by the program it helps participants to avoid the weight of student debt. In addition, support services are available at no cost to help ensure success.
There is a very important timeline to consider with the CPT Program. Participants must graduate by the end of the spring 2027 semester. If you or someone you know is ready to begin or continue a career in health, behavioral health, or social care, this is a great opportunity. The healthcare system needs you, and the CPT Program is here to help make it possible.
