This year, Cazenovia Recovery Systems is holding a holiday decorations contest and our residents and programs have gone all out with their decorating. The holiday decorations throughout the agency are absolutely wonderful.

Three Housing Program residents decorated their apartments, which are located in Cheektowaga and Tonawanda. Visitors are greeted with decorated doors and brightly-lit trees in the apartments.

Casa Di Vita, our Community Residence that serves women in recovery from substance use, has a tree, lights, garland, and more decorating its lounge. Leah and Heather, two Casa Di Vita residents, are delighted for the upcoming holiday and festive atmosphere at their program.

Ivy House, one of our Community Residences that serve men, has a window that peers out onto the bustling street of Broadway, and it looks just like an old storefront window during the holidays. It features a moving reindeer, a tree, and more.

Kevin, a resident at New Beginnings, decorated the program’s lounge and hallway. He explained that decorations are “everywhere.” It is easy to see that it took Kevin quite a while to decorate his program.

Other programs throughout the agency have decorated in other cheery and joyous ways. Liberty Hall and Turning Point House both have trees, and Turning Point House even has a train below its tree.

Decorations are festive and abundant at Visions Place, our program that serves individuals in recovery from mental illness and substance use. Bryan, a Visions Place resident who really got into the holiday spirit and dressed up as Santa, notes that “all of the decorations we created were made of recycled materials and cost less than $20.” Christa is really excited for the holiday, as well, and wants to make sure that everyone at Visions Place has a positive holiday experience. Together, Bryan and Christa realized that a lot of their memories of holidays and Christmases past were very happy and loving, and the two want to continue that tradition while staying at Visions. Bryan’s and Christa’s enthusiasm and passion for both the holiday and their treatment is quite contagious.
