Our agency took a wonderful cruise on the Miss Buffalo through Buffalo Harbor Cruises yesterday afternoon. It was the Wellness Committee’s first major event yesterday, and it was a huge success. Turnout was great as dozens of our employees attended in an effort to increase healthy living and mental well-being.

Sue Bissonette, our Executive Director, opened the cruise with a welcome to Cazenovia Recovery staff along with staff from Fellowship House, a fellow human services agency that provides services to people in recovery from substance use. They are located in Niagara County and Cazenovia Recovery has begun a merger process with them that will be complete as of the first day of 2016.

Briana Petersdorf, Program Director, set up the Miss Buffalo event and presented Years of Service pins to employees who have been with Cazenovia Recovery Systems for two, five, ten, fifteen, and twenty years.

The Miss Buffalo cruise served as a way for the Wellness Committee to promote its upcoming Hydration Challenge, a contest that the agency is holding to encourage healthy living through hydration. Cazenovia Recovery branded water bottles were given out to all attendees to help advertise the contest.

Den of Lions, whose lead singer Keith Shuskie was featured on The Voice, played great music throughout the event that some of our staff members enjoyed so much that they danced a bit.

Thankfully, the weather cooperated and stayed perfect throughout the journey. It was a marvelous way to spend a Thursday afternoon in Buffalo. If you’d like a copy of any of the pictures featured here, send an email to ecichon@cazenoviarecovery.org and mention the image number (0035, for example).
