Announcing Unity House
Cazenovia Recovery Systems will open Unity House this summer, a Community Residence program licensed by the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse (OASAS) that will help homeless men in recovery. Unity House will be located at 923 Sycamore Street, the current location of Cazenovia Recovery’s Visions Place program, and will serve a total of 24 men in recovery from substance use who will have their own individual rooms during their stay. Like our other Community Residences, the length of stay is expected to be between three to six months.
The agency held a contest to name the new program, and Unity House was declared the winner. The name was created by Ron Corpening, a counselor associate at Cazenovia Manor, and wonderfully represents this program’s mission to unite people on the road to recovery.
The creation of Unity House is part of a restructuring effort throughout Cazenovia Recovery Systems that begins with the upcoming closure of Visions Place, a Community Residence licensed through the New York State Office of Mental Health. Once Visions Place closes, New Beginnings and Ivy House, two of our OASAS-licensed Community Residences, will also close as the agency unites operations of these programs to a new Community Residence at Unity House.
More information about intake and admission will become available as Unity House’s opening date draws closer.
Cazenovia Recovery Systems looks forward to all the uplifting stories that will no doubt accompany the transition from Visions Place, New Beginnings, and Ivy House to our new Unity House.
